Explosive centre Solomone Kata has been brought onto the interchange for the Vodafone Junior Warriors NYC elimination final against South Sydney at ANZ Stadium tonight (5.15pm kick-off local time; 7.15pm NZT).

While the starting line-up remains as named on Tuesday, Kata comes onto the bench for prop Katamiro Atera.

While his season has been disrupted by injury, Kata, who played First XV rugby union for Sacred Heart College last year, has impressed when he has played, scoring 11 tries in his 13 matches and also kicking 22 goals for a total of 88 points.

He'll come off the interchange to enable coach John Ackland to switch utility Adam Tuimavave-Gerrard from his starting centres role to the back row at some stage in the contest.
