Members and fans had the chance to watch and then meet the Vodafone Warriors today when they had their final training run at Pizzey Park on the Gold Coast ahead of their 24th-round NRL encounter with the Titans tomorrow.

The Vodafone Warriors flew from Auckland to Brisbane yesterday before travelling to the Gold Coast.

They recovered from their long travel day with a special team activity on Friday morning - a master-class surfing lesson with two-time world champion Mick Fanning.

A big rugby league fan, Fanning, who won his titles in 2007 and 2009, has worked with Vodafone Warriors head coach Matthew Elliott for a number of years. Elliott arranged this morning's get-together with the players.

Some players like Shaun Johnson, raised on Auckland's Whangaparaoa Peninsula, had few issues. For others the session was a first-time experience.

Later after lunch the players were back to business for their last training run before they seek to secure the Vodafone Warriors' sixth consecuttive win over the Titans tomorrow.
