Sydney Roosters centre Brendan Elliotts late double handed the Vodafone Junior Warriors a heartbreaking 20-24 loss in Saturday nights second-round NYC clash at Eden Park.

The home side had a third straight Eden Park win in sight leading 20-14 with six minutes to play but Elliott took it away from them.

His first strike in the 74th minute pulled the Roosters back to 18-20 although he failed with the conversion attempt.

But three minutes later he was in again and converted to take his side four points clear.

A week after losing 8-46 to the Parramatta Eels, the Vodafone Junior Warriors had to recover from 0-10 and then 6-14 down to climb back into the contest.

A Mason Lino penalty on halftime had the margin down to six
