NRL Casualty Ward: Fogarty blow; Gagai out; Wests Tigers lose Tupou

The Raiders suffered an injury blow after star halfback Jamal Fogarty was ruled out at halftime against the Broncos with a biceps injury.

Fogarty suffered the injury in the first half and played on until the break but was reduced to spectator after halftime as watched from the sideline.

Simi Sasagi, who started the match in the second-row after Zac Hosking suffered a shoulder injury last weekend, was forced to shift to the halves alongside fellow rookie Ethan Strange.

Veteran Knights centre Dane Gagai has been withdrawn from the side to face the Bulldogs in Round 7 with a calf issue.

Gagai was replaced in the 24-hour update on Saturday, with the club anticipating that he will be available to return to action in Round 8 at this stage.

After getting a glut of talent back from injury in Round 7, the Wests Tigers also lost winger Junior Tupou to a suspected broken foot in the loss to the Panthers.

Penrith coach Ivan Cleary meanwhile downplayed concerns around Dylan Edwards leaving the field in the closing exchanges with what appeared to be a leg injury, saying the fullback didn't believe it was anything serious.

Earlier the Rabbitohs confirmed prop Tevita Tatola is facing up to 12 weeks on the sideline after undergoing surgery on a fractured foot.

Tatola suffered the injury during the early stages of the loss to the Sharks and scans revealed a fifth metatarsal fracture.

The Rabbitohs' head of performance Andrew Croll said Tatola is looking at six weeks non-weight bearing and "typically around a 12-week rehab and return to play timeline".

Winger Tyrone Munro is also set for surgery after fracturing his collarbone against the Sharks.

Cowboys back-rower Heilum Luki meanwhile is nearing a return from ankle surgery, having resumed running ahead of Round 7.

Club physiotherapist Ash Graham said the 23-year-old will now increase his running load, with a view to returning in Round 9.

"Hoping for him to be back out against the Dolphins... there's no reason why he should be out there at full fitness," Graham said.

Titans fullback Jayden Campbell has suffered another injury blow, following confirmation of a knee injury that will sideline him for at least a month.

The 24-year-old was forced from the field in the 64th minute of the golden point loss to the Raiders in Round 6 with a PCL injury, after attempting to play through the injury earlier in the second half.

After missing the opening fortnight of the season as he recovered from a dislocated patella suffered last year, the Titans say Campbell will be unavailable for up to six weeks.

Fellow Titan Phil Sami, who was named to take his place in the Round 7 line-up, has failed his fitness test and won't be making a return from an ankle injury.

The Dolphins are preparing to be without fullback Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow for at least a month following confirmation of the severity of a hamstring injury suffered in Round 6.

'Hammer' picked up a grade two hamstring tear while chasing down Corey Oates on what turned out to be a dead play last Friday and has prior history with such injuries.

"The injury is in not too bad a spot, but a player of his speed will have to be carefully rehabilitated," Dolphins’ head of performance Jeremy Hickmans told the club website.

Parramatta lost five-eighth Daejarn Asi to a head knock during their loss to the Dolphins in Darwin.

Zac Hosking meanwhile will be out indefinitely with a shoulder injury, with the Raiders second-rower set to meet with specialists to determine if he will require immediate surgery.

Panthers star Nathan Cleary's expected return from a hamstring injury has been pushed back a week, with the playmaker left out of the squad to face Wests Tigers in Bathurst.

"We're still pretty hopeful for next week. He probably could have played this week but until he does more training and that sort of stuff but he's going well," coach Ivan Cleary said on Tuesday.

"He's been doing heaps of running but now he has to gravitate back into team stuff which he has been doing, but until he can do the whole bit for probably a week then we're not going to play him."

Cowboys winger Murray Taulagi and Sea Eagles back-rower/centre Ben Trbojevic are both expected to miss three weeks after picking up hamstring injuries of their own last weekend.

"Sam tried to train on Tuesday but just didn't quite get there so he was ruled out," Roosters coach Trent Robinson said.

"He didn't pass one of the stages so it just puts you back so he doesn't get to the game in time. He has to pass those stages before he gets to play again."
