With Ronald Volkman called up to the NRL side, the One New Zealand Warriors will field a new halves combination in Sunday’s fifth-round New South Wales Cup match against Western Suburbs at Lidcombe Oval in Sydney (1.00pm kick-off local time; 3.00pm NZT).

Ben Farr, who joined the club this season from Queensland Cup side Wynnum-Manly, will team up with Geronimo Doyle.

Doyle's one appearance for the One New Zealand Warriors’ NSW Cup team so far this season came when he lined up at fullback in the fourth-round loss to North Sydney.

An Otahuhu Leopards junior, he spent the 2021 and 2022 season in England when he first played for Swinton and then Whitehaven.

Volkman delivered a man of the match performance in Sunday’s 30-18 win over competition leader Canterbury Bankstown but has been promoted to the NRL to replace Te Maire Martin (concussion) for Sunday’s match against the Sharks.

As well as Doyle, Sanele Aukusitino is recalled on the wing after missing the match against Bulldogs through concussion.
