Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad marked his rookie NRL season by being named the Canterbury of New Zealand Clubman of the Year.

The 22-year-old, the club's 2016 Vodafone Intrust Super Premiership Player of the Year, continued his development this season by earning his NRL debut and going on to make seven appearances in his rookie year (as well as scoring seven tries).

In between he was a regular for the ISP team again as it made it to the finals before being eliminated one week short of the grand final.

Nicoll-Klokstad also made a huge impression with his and attitude and contribution off the field at community and sponsor appearances.

One of the year's most heart-warming stories was his act of human kindness to Takiri Wikitera which saw him acknowledged with the Canterbury of New Zealand NRL Clubman of the Year award at the Vodafone Warriors' season-closing presentation at SKYCITY on Tuesday night.
