Sudden-death finals football faces the Vodafone Warriors when they take on Newcastle in their Intrust Super Premiership semi-final in Sydney on Sunday.

UOW Jubilee Oval in Kogarah will again be the venue for the Vodafone Warriors’ last chance to stay alive in the final (7.05pm kick-off local time, 9.05pm NZT).

The second-placed Vodafone Warriors earned a second life through their top four finish in the regular season.

They stumbled at the first hurdle yesterday, going down 20-36 to third-placed Penrith, but will be able to call on reinforcements this week with key playmakers Mason Lino and Ata Hingano back in the frame along with fullback-wing Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad and forwards Charlie Gubb, Isaiah Papali’i and Jazz Tevaga.

The seventh-placed Knights stayed in the hunt with the biggest winning margin of all the finals when they eliminated the sixth-placed North Sydney Bears 40-18.
