Friday night home games will go from famine to feast for the Vodafone Warriors in 2017.

They didn’t have one Friday night home game during the past five seasons, last experiencing the Friday night lights feeling with back-to-back games against Gold Coast and Canterbury-Bankstown at Mount Smart Stadium in July 2011.

That all changes next year following the NRL’s introduction of a kick-off time of 6.00pm AEST for the first of its two Friday matches (equating to an 8.00pm start in New Zealand).

It has resulted in the Vodafone Warriors being handed five Friday night games on home soil, four of them designated home games and the other an ‘away’ clash against the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs in Dunedin.

Details released for the first 20 rounds of the 2017 draw also confirmed a sixth Friday night game against the Parramatta Eels in Sydney.
