Calls for nominations for the Women in League Bay attracted a deluge of replies for today's Women in League clash between the Vodafone Warriors and Penrith at Mount Smart Stadium (5.00pm kick-off; match day sponsor: Harvey Norman).

Members and fans were invited to nominate deserving women who help make rugby league the great game it is.

They went into a draw for double passes to the Women in League Bay created in the lower East Stand (Bay 27) for today's match. All winners have been notified by email.

There were some fantastic nominations. Here are some of them:

“She's an amazing wife and mother to our four children. She supports our sons in league and continues to do so today. She has managed them in club and representative and has gained so much respect from all players throughout. They all call her Aunty lol!”

“Liz is a devoted and loyal Richmond Rovers rugby league club volunteer where her two sons also play for the Premier team. Liz is also the Richmond Premier & Premier 1st team manager. Liz manages the Richmond club after school care.”

“She's a major fan. Has been for years. Recently had a baby and her idea of a break is going to a Warriors game.”

“She's a single mother of myself and younger brother. I believe she deserves this because she works hard to provide the best for us and this year she took on the manager’s role for Howick U18s and she works hard to get the best for her players.”

“Her work with the mentally disabled is something that never gets rewarded. She loves going to live Warriors games (Shaun Johnson’s her fave). So it would be a cool prize for her!”

“She loves rugby league but most times when the games are on you'll find her busy looking after my siblings. This is because my mom suffered from a serious accident which resulted in her not being able to do most things a mother would normally do.”

“Tajtiana, also know as Tash, had to sit out this season due to a knee reconstruction but it didn't stop her from supporting the local team. Works hard and puts 110% on and off the field, whether she's playing or not.”

“My wife goes over and beyond for me and our five children and my dad and she’s a crazy fan. She deserves a special treat to enjoy. We love her so much.”

“She lives, eat, sleeps league. She coaches U6, treasurer/secretary of club, junior admin, referee. Watches all games come the weekend to improve her reffing or coaching. Would be your Warriors’ biggest fan.”

“She's the biggest supporter of the Warriors I've seen. She never gets the time to get to the games, trying to manage between work and raising her child. Would be awesome to get her out once!”

“I'm a Warriors supporter and a member. I never allow my partner to attend the games with me as I turn BEASTMODE at the games. She would be able to FINALLY attend a match with me IF she wins this of course. Lol #WARRIORSNATION.”

“She is dedicated to her grandchildren, and goes to watch four of them play every game, every weekend, rain, hail, snow, or chilly frost! She so deserves to be rewarded for her commitment. When her grown up son plays, she is there too!!”

“My sister is such a giver. She always puts other people first in time, food and money. She is a massive supporter of the Warriors through winning and losing. She knows the game inside and out. She is our side-line umpire.”
