It's a big week for ... Tuimoala Lolohea

Tuimoala Lolohea’s versatility makes him an invaluable asset for the Vodafone Warriors with his ability to provide his explosive skills in so many different roles.

Over the last month he has filled interchange requirements being used there in three games while his last start was the Vodafone Warriors’ most recent outing at Mount Smart Stadium when he was stationed on the right wing in the 27-18 win against the Gold Coast Titans.

This week he’ll have the No 1 jersey again after being named to start at fullback in the Women in League encounter with the Penrith Panthers (5.00pm kick-off; match day sponsor: Harvey Norman).

In 23 appearances in 2015 Lolohea underlined his value by being used everywhere in the backline.

He has appeared in all but one of the Vodafone Warriors’ 18 matches so far this year splitting his games mainly between the wing and fullback; he started at standoff in the Wellington encounter against Canterbury Bankstown but was there for only 16 minutes before moving to fullback after Roger Tuivasa-Sheck was forced off the field with his season-ending ACL knee injury.

Still only 21, Lolohea is rapidly approaching the 50-game milestone, this week’s game being his 44th first-grade appearance in a career in which he has also excelled for the club’s NYC and New South Wales Cup teams.

While his on-field time has been affected by a first half injury against the Storm in Melbourne and his stints on the bench, he is still averaging 10 runs and 93 metres a game with 12 line breaks and four tries.

Last year Lolohea averaged 106 metres and close to 12 runs a game, scored 11 tries and made eight line breaks.
