The Vodafone Warriors have special links with the NRL's Indigenous Round through current squad members Jonathan Wright and Matt Allwood.
This week Wright talked about what the Indigenous Round and his culture mean to him.
Wright and Allwood gave their Vodafone Warriors team-mates an insight into their heritage on a cultural night at a preseason camp.
After the 2015 NRL season Wright travelled to Dubbo for the annual indigenous Koori Knockout tournament, an event his father helped to found. He went on to experience a career highlight when he scored the match-winning try in golden point extra time in the grand final.
Apart from Wright and Allwood, the Vodafone Warriors have had a number of other indigenous Australian players on their books over the years such as PJ Marsh, Brent Webb, Joel Moon, John Simon and Dane Nielsen.
There was a long-held belief that Mark Tookey was also of indigenous extraction but the man himself admits he isn't although he did play for an indigenous side during his playing career.
