St George Illawarra handed the Vodafone Junior Warriors a crushing 50-0 defeat in today’s ninth-round NYC match at Mount Smart Stadium.

The two teams had identical records (three wins, five losses) going into the contest but the home side couldn’t get its game going despite coming off a win against Melbourne last week.

The Dragons fired up immediately with two early tries to lead 10-0 before finding some resistance as the Vodafone Junior Warriors kept them in check until the final six minutes of the half.

The weight of errors and limited possession then told, though, as the Dragons bagged two tries to lead 22-0 at the break and then added five more in the second half to run away with it.
