Club sponsors, stakeholders and media rubbed shoulders with Vodafone Warriors players and football staff at today’s official season launch at SKYCITY.

Just days away from leading the side for the first time, captain Ryan Hoffman had the task of introducing the full 2016 squad at the breakfast gathering.

The event, fronted by long-time former Vodafone Warriors Awen Guttenbeil and Monty Betham, also featured a sofa chat with Vodafone chief executive Russell Stanners, Vodafone Warriors managing director Jim Doyle and head coach Andrew McFadden while Betham later spoke to Hoffman about his new role.

The Vodafone Warriors start their season against Wests Tigers at Campbelltown Sports Stadium on Saturday (5.30pm kick-off local time; 7.30pm NZT).

They trained yesterday and again today ahead of flying out to Sydney on Friday morning where they’ll have a closed field session ahead of their first game day of the year.

McFadden yesterday named a 19-man squad for the first-round match including six players who will be playing for the club for the first time, one of them – 19-year-old Nathaniel Roache – making his NRL debut.

The Vodafone Warriors are also away in the second round when they face Brisbane at Suncorp Stadium on Friday, March 11 (7.05pm kick-off local time; 10.05pm NZT) before having back-to-back home games at Mount Smart Stadium against Melbourne (4.00pm, Sunday, March 20) and Newcastle (4.00pm, Monday, March 28).
