Aggressive front rower James Gavet has earned himself a contract for the 2016 NRL season after being on trial in the preseason.

The 26-year-old is back with the club where he started out with the Vodafone Junior Warriors in the NYC in 2009 and also played for Auckland Vulcans while in the club's wider NRL squad in 2010 and 2011.

Gavet was with Canterbury-Bankstown in 2012, Wests Tigers in 2013 and 2014 and Brisbane last season before heading back home uncertain of his future in the game.

With 14 first-grade games in four seasons interrupted by injuries, Gavet was given the opportunity to train with the Vodafone Warriors.

Impressing in the club's first NRL trial against Gold Coast in Whangarei, he again made an impact off the bench in last Saturday's hit-out against the Dragons in Nelson.

Vodafone Warriors TV caught up with Gavet about his return to the club.
