Vodafone Warriors chairman Bill Wavish is urging Auckland-based members and fans to lobby the Auckland Council and their local councillors over the continuing Mount Smart Stadium debate.

In an interview with Fairfax Media, Wavish said: "The council want to throw all of this money at Albany in the hope that we'll go there - we'll never go to Albany. We'll go to Wellington, Christchurch, Dunedin or Hamilton before we go there."

Wavish also made more comments about the Mount Smart Stadium issue when he spoke to members in Sir Peter Leitch's Mad Butcher Club in the Stacey Jones Lounge on Sunday.

He urged them to provide feedback to the Auckland Council and lobby their local councillors to support the club's fight to stay at Mount Smart Stadium after its lease expires at the end of 2018.
